Friday

Well, the viral infection the kiddo's got has made its way over to me now, so this weekend should be awesome. We sickies are trying to make the best of things, so my 4 year old and I made a pumpkin for baby sister last night, using an idea I found on Pinterest (because I am NOT creative on my own at all).

Since I feel like total crud, I went super comfy for work today. The Stitch Fix top from yesterday's review, and some Kut from the Kloth Stitch Fix jeans I received earlier this year (it's still 95 here, so as long as it still feels like summer I'm still wearing my white jeans lol).

Here's hoping your weekend is better than mine!!!

GOALS

Here's the dress I'm wearing today. I picked up the dress and necklace at Anthropologie about a month ago (the necklace was on sale - woot woot!) Super comfortable and cute. I'm a sucker for a bird print.
Anyways, I have a few goals that I figured I'd be more likely to follow through with if I post them on here, so let's see:

  • Finish getting back into shape. My newest child is 9 months old now, so I've really got to get it together. I still feel yuck in a lot of my clothes. I just need to make going to the gym as much of a priority as I make everything else.
  • Post on here a minimum of 3 times a week. I know that seems silly, but I enjoy doing it, so I want to make it more of a priority.
  • Finish de-cluttering my house. As the family has grown, so has the amount of stuff. I need to keep plugging away at everything and get it done!
So there you have it, boring goals that I hope to accomplish, all while wearing a bird print dress!

Stitch Fix #13 Review

Time for another Stitch Fix Review. Even by my standards these pictures are horrible. We have 2 sick kiddo's this week, so this was a 5am before work 10 minute try on session since I have to pay for my fix today.
In this fix I received a pair of jeans, 2 shirts, a poncho, and a blazer. The first item I tried on was the Kut from the Kloth Dayna Skinny Jeans in Olive. They are a size 2. I tried them on with the Papermoon Marisol Mixed Material 3/4 Sleeve Knit Top in Navy (size XS). Normally, I wouldn't wear these together, but I was in a rush!

The jeans are very comfortable. I typically spend about $200 on my jeans, so Stitch Fix jeans are always a little tricky for me, since they are a lot less expensive, but I like these jeans, and I can see myself wearing them quite a bit. This shirt is soooooo comfortable. The only thing I don't like is that I have a few short sleeved shirts like this that I got at Anthropologie a few summers ago, so it almost makes me feel like it's a little outdated? That being said, I think it will be an easy go to piece in the fall with jeans, and even in the spring with white jeans or denim shorts.
Next I tried on the Staccato Cece Pocket Knit Tee in Olive (size XS) with the same jeans from above. My stylist sent me this because of the olive on olive look I pinned here.

Again, not a real 'wow' piece, but something I can see myself wearing quite a bit. The material is very soft and comfortable as well, and I liked it with the olive jeans.
Next up was the biggest surprise piece for me, the Alice Blue Asilah Drape Blazer. When I took this out of the box, I didn't like the material, and I thought I was going to hate this. I did however like the pop of color, which is something I feel like my fixes could use more of. Well, I tried it on, and I LOVE IT. Seriously, it's great. Great fit. Would look great for work or with jeans. I have a black blazer from Nordstrom that I wear a bunch. I don't think I ever would have bought a red one on my own, but I'm glad I have one now!

Last up was the Sweet Romeo Pauli Poncho Cardigan. I have pinned some other poncho and cape options on my Stitch Fix Pinterest Board here and here. This piece was a bit of a let down. I have a bunch of cardigan's already, and this doesn't seem super poncho-y to me. However, with the Buy 5 discount, I'm better off keeping the piece.

All in all, this was a solid fix. I will probably only take one more this year, as this is our first holiday season with 2 kids to buy for, so my shopping has to get put on hold a bit. Sacrifices, right?!

Last Week

I was having phone issues like you would not believe last week, so I only got pictures of 1 outfit. But 2 new phones later, I am back in business!

These pieces are all several years old. Ella Moss leggings. Splendid top. The vest is Everleigh. The shoes are Pour La Victorie from last year. #realgirlcloset not #fashionbloggercloset ;)

Stitch Fix # 12 - September 2015 Review

It's that time again. Another Stitch Fix review. Let's start with the bad, and I mean BAD.

THML BRESEE SCOOP NECK TOP SIZE XS. Words cannot express how much I didn't want to show this one to ya'll. When I pulled it out of the box, my initial thoughts were something along the lines of "Wtf....what on earth did I pin that made them think I would like this....is that supposed to look like a vest?!" So, I pulled myself together, and tried to get in a good frame of mind before trying it on, but nope, it was every bit as horrible as I thought it would be. So, now that your eyeballs are writhing in pain from what you just saw, let's move on to the rest of the fix which was much better!

ALICE BLUE BRIELLE DRESS SIZE S. So I think we all can agree this is a yes? This is one I had pinned. It's comfortable, I felt good in it, I can see wearing it with heels, or ankle boots, with a cute jacket, with a hat, etc. The material is thick enough that even though it's white, it's not see-through at all. A keeper for sure!

SKIES ARE BLUE BOWES BUTTON DOWN TOP SIZE XS. If you've looked at my Pinterest, or my closet for that matter, you will know that I am a sucker for chambray, or anything denim. So, well you might be thinking to yourself, Amber - this top is really similar to the Anthropologie top you wore a few weeks ago here - I will invite you to take your logic elsewhere because I'm keeping this top!

MARKET & SPRUCE FIERRO ELBOW PATCH CREW NECK SWEATER SIZE XS. I'll admit, this one isn't anything over the top exciting (check out this awesome one I have pinned here ) , but I think with some grey skinny jeans and black ankle boots and a black hat it will be a good casual piece.

MARKET & SPRUCE ANGELO CARGO ANORAK JACKET SIZE S. I specifically requested an anorak jacket in a size small, as I wanted it to be comfy. I don't know why it matters but I love the polka dots inside this one. It's still in the mid 90's in Texas so I won't be wearing it anytime soon but whatever.
Now, here's the kicker, if I send back the eye burning horrible shirt, I will end up paying more than I would if I kept it (because of the 25% buy 5 discount). So, I kept my whole fix, including the awful shirt. If for some reason this shirt is your cup of tea, email me and it's all yours!

Friday!!!!

Well, I still haven't gotten around to the new Anthropologie stuff - maybe tomorrow ;)
I got this Holding Horses chambray shirt a few months ago at Anthropologie. The necklace I bought at Anthropologie on sale last week. The jeans are the Avedon Skinny Jeans by Citizens of Humanity.
